A Hollowing of Bones

I’m here

So dark and cold

bones whispering

Breathing in the night air

Tears hot with pain

burning heart

beating chest

Unable to breathe

Is this a curse?

To be alive

So full of love

and so full of pain.

To know surrender as an ally

A dear friend

Will I get back up this time?

Will I be able to fly again?

Can I turn this into something good?

I know I can...

But the tears fall heavy tonight

And all I can do is look up
