My Wish

You know, I never got to meet you or tell you all the things I dreamed we would do, but I know that no matter what, you are out there living it too.

And when this reaches you and it will as I write, please know I say this with a smile on my face. It's not a bad thing to be out there doing what you do on your own, to build a family you never expected in the most glorious of ways. I don't know how many kids you've helped raise, but golly they sure are a swell bunch aren't they?

And man, the way they light up the room with laughter, I just can't even, it's so beautiful.

It's weird when you stare at yourself in the mirror and realize you didn't fail, you just built something only you could, and realize just how big a splash you made on the hearts and lives of so many people that needed someone like you to be there and show up...

It isn't everyone who gets to be that guy or gal. But it is literally everyone who feels that wave of Love, of Crazy, of Madness.

And I can't help but laugh at it myself.
