Rise

Rise from the ashes and turn to flame

All you are and all you will be,

staring at you in the fire.

For a moment you found yourself lost

And yet it took only a moment to

remember who you truly are and all you are to become.

It’s in the darkness we grow our roots stronger

It’s in the devastation that we cultivate our spirit

It’s in the wandering,

the long days in solitude

grasping at the unseen that we

release all we are not.

There is no loss in loosing oneself for a time,

only the process of old skin falling away for the new to breathe.

Take heart in this moment, stand as feeble as you may in your new skin.

Let the spirit fill you and lift you higher into new heights
