Pause

The more we move forward

The more we see our impact

On those we helped along the journey.

The still solitude in sitting with the elderly,

The last time unknowingly helping someone garden.

The laughter, the joy,

the shared smiles.

All during a time of great dysfunction perhaps in our own lives.

But in those pauses, the journeys family is who held our hearts the most.

The ones who opened their hearts,

lives and homes.

Teaching us things unique to

our heart of hearts.

I cannot help but shed a tear here.

Looking back at just how much

These people have built into me moving forward.

I cannot help but pause,

And say Thank You.

I hope I make you proud.
